[Continued from Northern Sea]
Narik finally decided to see why Blade wasn't responding and noticed he was trying to pick Klein up without harming him more. "Oh...uhh, let me help with that." Narik walked over and grabbed Klein's legs as Blade carefully picked him up by the arms. "Better watch for his shoulder, doesn't really look that good." Blade sighed, "Neither does the gunshot..." They reached downstairs and rested Klein on a bed. "It's not like I meant to shoot him, it was an accident. Don't try to make me feel bad for that....Anyway, I'll go look for supplies and you.." Narik turned to see Amira with a worried face, "You can tell her the good and bad news." Narik hurried away while Blade moved to talk to Amira. "Well, the good news is that Dias is gone, not sure where he went, but I hope he is dead. The bad news is...well, I think you can kinda see it. Narik went to go look for something to help him, but..." Blade didn't want to continue with the rest of what he had to say. He looked to Amira and saw that she understood from the look in her eyes. "The only thing we can do now is wait, right?" Amira said to Blade. "Yeah, just wait."
Narik scavenged through drawers and cabnets looking for anything that would help out the cause. "Well, we definitely have enough alcohol to disinfect the wounds. Bandages....herbs...not much though...food...guess he'll need that....clothes....sure, I wouldn't want to wear bloody clothes...." Narik threw all the items into a blanket and then tied it up. "Okay, good to go." He navigated back to Blade and Amira and gave them the things. "Hopefully one of you are good at treating wounds, I only know what is needed, not so good with the actual process." Amira nodded to Narik, "I know enough to handle this, but it's pressuring to do it with others around. Do you think you both could go to the deck, maybe try to see if we are near land at all?" Narik and Blade agreed unspoken and moved upstairs. "Good, I need some fresh air, much too tense for my nerves down there." Narik muttered, pulling out a beer he kept to drink.

Specks of light began to fill one of Klein's eyes as it fluttered open. "Wh.." He winced and let out a raspy gasp, coughing blood to the side. He realized he couldnt speak very well in this condition. He moved his eye around scanning the room. He noted he was still on the ship, only inside it. His stomach, arms and legs were bandaged, as well as one half of his face. "How did..." He thought to himself. He tried to shift himself to the side to look out the door, but stopped short as an intense burst of pain filled his body. "Damnit!...start slow" He thought. He tried to move his arms, one moved well, the other was harder and felt numb. Next his legs, they felt weak but otherwise ok.
"It's a good thing you had that armor covering your chest, it absorbed most of that shot for you." A voice said from the doorway. Klein recognized it as Amira and attempted to shift his vision to it but was unable. "A..." he winced again as he tried to speak. "Don't try to talk, save your strength." Amira said. Klein gave a weak thumbs up. "If she is here, Blade must be alright as well....and probably Narik" Klein thought. "Get some rest, I'll be back down to check on you and get you some food shortly, we are almost ashore." Amira said turning to walk out of the room. Klein closed his eyes and went back to sleep.

Amira made her way back above deck, moving to join Blade and Narik. She nodded a greeting, then turned to look out over the water. "He's doing as well as he can, I suppose. He looks like he'll be okay, but we have to get him to a doctor as soon as we come ashore." She looked at the men, who were wearing harsh looks. "How are you both feeling? Could I get you anything? A drink, even?"

"I'm fine, and look, we are about 10 minutes away from finally being able to touch land. Guess I'll take the wheel and move towards the docks." Narik walked away and headed to the upper deck as Amira and Blade continued to watch the ocean.
"Now that I think of it, there actually is a doctor in Daygeran, hell he may as well be the best healer in the lands, how could I have forgotten such an old friend. Hopefully he isn't busy and can fix up Klein, he does still own me after I funded the building of his fort."
Narik grinned with excitement and twisted the wheel in the direction of the nearby docks. The boat reached the edge and Blade jumped off to tie up the boat as Amira went to talk to some locals about Daygeran. Narik pulled out a map of the town and skimmed it to see if he could find the healer's fort. "Ah, here it is. All the way on the other side of town, what luck...." He folded the map and tucked it back into his coat and then got off the boat and went towards Blade. "You might as well go around town and see the sights, same for Amira. I'll go find a doctor and see if he can help out with Klein." Blade shrugged. "Yeah, I guess we do kinda need some new parts for the boat. Sooner the better." Narik nodded and Blade wandered away as Narik moved to the direction of the fort.

Amira made her way down the road, a thoughtful look upon her face. She stopped at a bar, hoping to meet a distraction from her own head. She sat at the counter and ordered herself something small to eat. The man next to her struck up a conversation, and soon she found herself smiling again, a bit less worried. She knew that the man from the ship, Dias, was going to come back, and seeing what he'd already done to Klein wasn't helping ease her mind of worrying. She settled to getting to know the village while she waited for Klein, Blade, or Narik to figure out what they were doing.

Narik finally made it to the fort where the healer resided. "This must be it, never actually saw the building I helped make, but this looks about right." Narik looked at the nameplate next to the doors and confirmed his thoughts.
Fort Daygeran - Home of the Grand Healer, Alex.
Narik walked into the inner areas of the fort and proceeded to knock at the main doors. A butler showed up and greeted Narik inside. "Are you here for Master Alex?" Narik nodded and was led by the man into the office where Alex sat by a desk with a staff by his side. "Ah, I remember you. You're Narik, I have to thank you again for building this wonderful place for me, but what business do you have here?" Alex asked. Narik sat down in chair opposite Alex and decided to start the story of how the crew encountered Dias and that Klein was deeply injured. "Ah, so you need my help to heal him. Well then, I can't deny a request like that, lead away!" Narik grinned and both of the men got out of their chairs and went on their way to the boat.

Klein groaned in his sleep, he was having a nightmare, he was trying to protect someone, someone with a shadowed face wearing a dark dress. He was protecting them from Dias, and another man who also was shadowed. They were laughing as he slumped to the ground beaten and bloody. They cut him down, stabbing him in the chest. He awoke with a jolt which caused pain in his body.
"Just...just a dream" He thought. He looked over with his one eye and saw Narik enter the room, followed by an older man who looked to be in his late 30's. Klein gave Narik a thumbs up and a half smile. Narik gave a thumbs up back as the other man walked over to his side.

"So, this is Klein." Alex checked walked over to the bed and looked at Klein's wounds. "Lucky, if you stalled 5 hours from getting me, this man would have been dead for sure, but we don't have to worry about those bad outcomes no longer.." Alex grabbed the staff he had off his back and hovered it over Klein's body. Narik heard Alex say some chants, but it was mostly gibberish to someone of his level. The staff started to turn a bright green and Klein soon began to have a green aura around him as well. "There we are, now sit back and watch the magic." Narik walked closer to the bed and was stunned by how fast Klein's wounds were healing.
"Th....this is incredible. Do you think you could teach this power to someone?" Alex turned to look at Narik and sighed. "No, this power is mine and mine alone. Most of it comes from the staff, but it only responds to me now. If it were in your hands, you wouldn't be able to heal a simple paper cut." Narik nodded after the explanation. "Well then, how about forgetting your fort and joining up with us? I'm sure you'd like to go on an adventure, I mean, I've heard about what you did back in your prime. Most of them seem like myths and legends, but I'm sure some of the stories of you and your old group are true." The staff reverted back to its old color and the aura around Klein stopped as well.
Alex stood up and headed for the door. "...I wish I could go with you, but I must stay here. I'm not only here as a healer...there is something more in this town and I've spent 2 years trying to find out, but I still fail each time the occurrence happens." Narik looked at Alex with a dumbfounded expression. "What are you talking about?" Narik saw that Alex was about to say something, but immediately shrugged it off and continued out the door. "Your friend is fully healed now, he should be back up in about 5 minutes....Farewell." Narik watched Alex head up the stairs to the deck. "I have to find out what these "occurrences" he talked about are, but first I should wait until Klein wakes." Narik moved a chair over to the bed's side and waited for Klein's inevitable awakening.

Klein came back out of it a few moments later. Instantly he realized something felt different, his body didnt feel numb and stinging anymore. He moved his arms and legs perfectly. "Wow...this is amazing" he said looking over at Narik. "Whoever that was, I owe him a lot, I feel brand new." He sat on the side of the bed and removed his bandages from his face and body. He noted that he escaped with only a deep scar on his shoulder, otherwise he was unscathed. Klein looked around the room. "My armor and weapons...." He couldnt find them, his eyes grew solemn. "My pack, where is it!?" He was anxious. "Please tell me you didn't lose it in the battle!"

"Don't worry about your weapons, they are in the other room perfectly fine, but the armor is kinda damaged from the battle. Not sure it would defend you against much anymore. Maybe you could go into town and get it fixed, hell take some of my money and buy yourself some new armor, but I can't really help with it other than that...I have some important matters to attend to." Klein nodded and stood to go retrieve his weapons and clothes as Narik went upstairs and prepared to head into town.

Klein nodded and shrugged. He had more questions, but they could wait. He retrieved his weapons and was relieved that everything in his supply pack was still there. His armor though had dents, scratches and holes in it. "Damn..." He mumbled. He grabbed some of the money Narik allowed him to use. "Hm..." He noticed the weapons Amira has brought were in the same room. "I could use one of these..." He looked around for what he needed, grabbing a well made bow and a small quiver of arrows. "I'm sick of only being the distraction while my friends fight from afar, I need some range." He smiled as he walked off the boat and headed for the blacksmith. He settled on a chest guard much like his own, just with higher quality silver, as well as a newer pair of greaves, his were getting brittle and rusty. "Very nice." He said as he handed the Blacksmith some coin. "Thanks." He walked out of the Blacksmith wondering where to go next, he had no clue where any of his companions were. "Suppose I'll check out that building then..." He said walking towards a large fort. "Hm...seems pretty solid..." He noticed the sign. "Healer? Oh this must be where that man lives...I should go thank him." He walked in the front gate and knocked on the main doors. "Um...hello I'm here to see Alex?" He said nervously.

The butler opened the door and kindly greeted Klein into the fort. "It seems weird for Master Alex to be getting so many visitors today. It's only morning and already two have shown." Klein walked into the main hall and examined the scenery. "The first man that came here was my friend, he was requesting Alex's help to heal me, so I thought I would stop by and thank him since he left before I woke." The butler nodded and leaded Klein to Alex's office. "Right though here boy, this is his office". Klein thanked the butler and then headed through the doors into the office.

Klein entered the office. "Hello sir!" He said with a smile. "Ah looks like you came out fine." Alex said back. Klein sat down in a chair against the wall. "All thanks to you, I owe you my life." Klein said nodding. "If there is anything you need, please feel free to ask, I'll help in any way I can." He looked around the room and examined all the decor and paintings. One in particular caught his eye. It showed Alex standing with a group of other men, he was holding his staff. One man was holding two swords with water swirling at his feet, another had a large tiger of sorts next to him, the man on the far right was standing on a pillar of earth with a smirk while yet another man was wearing a large suit of armor while riding atop a large dragon. "This man in the painting, it's you, who are these men with you?" Klein asked stepping over to the painting to examine it.

"Old friends, we were the best of the best back then. Almost any job was no match for us, but that was long ago. Things change." Klein was puzzled by the response. "Do you know where any of them are anymore?" Alex nodded. "Yes, I keep in touch with them through letters, but we haven't physically seen each other for about 20 years. You seem very interested in this topic though, have you heard the stories of our group or something. I hear they are taken as legends nowadays."
Meanwhile...
Narik walked through the town looking for a lead on what was going on in the city. He noticed a town crier yelling off news from a street corner and went to ask him some questions. "Excuse me sir, I'm new around here and I've heard that there is some problems going on in the town. Could you shed some light for me?" The crier looked shocked at the question. "How haven't you heard? Even if you aren't from the town you should still know about this. There have been some nasty murders going on lately and there is still no evidence on the murderer. Every single crime scene has been swept clear. This person is a mastermind, I heard that the town healer is hunting for him since the mercs and police have long given up." Narik nodded at the crier, he figured he wasn't going to get any actual facts from him other than the basic story. "Thanks, here's some money for your troubles." The crier thanked Narik as he turned away to the fort to ask Alex about the investigation he was doing.

Klein shrugged and nodded. "I've heard plenty, but always variants upon the who, what, and why." Klein sat back down. "Even some say you were villains, but I didn't buy it. Stories get skewed as they travel by ear, and I've been far and wide." He shook his head. "Well, is there anything you need? I have to repay your kindness some way, and I have some skills you may find usefull, or not, choice is yours."
