Once the group reached Daygeran, Narik went off to the healer as Blade and Amira went around town. Narik soon ended up at the fort of Alex, who was once a warrior 20 years prior. He requests the help of Alex in order to heal Klein and mentions that he helped fund the fort that Alex currently lives in. Alex agrees to the task and goes to the boat with Narik to heal Klein.
After saving Klein, Narik asks if Alex would join them on their journey. Alex explains that his adventuring days are over and also that he is investigating something in the town and then departs back to his fort. Narik, curious of what is going on in the town, goes off to find leads. Klein soon awakens and explores around town until he finds Alex's fort and decides to thank him for his kind deed.
Alex's butler leads Klein inside and he meets Alex. After an exchange of words, Klein looks around the room and notices a picture of Alex and a group of men. Alex explains that they were once a mercenary group and their skills and feats are now considered legends. Klein tells his take of the stories and then asks if there is anyway he could repay Alex for his service.
Meanwhile, Narik goes around town and asks the locals about what is going on in Daygeran. He soon learns that there is a murderer that has slowly been killing more and more people, but no one can manage to catch him. Narik becomes deeply interested and goes back to Alex's fort to ask him about it. He notices that Klein is with Alex and they soon both learn of the occurrences that have been happening.
Alex explains that the killer has been roaming around peaceful towns and killing an increase of 10 people with each one. Daygeran is scheduled to be the town where he kills 50 people and had already managed to kill 37 so far. Alex then reveals that one of his formal teammates had come to town to assist him in hunting the killer, but was murdered. This made the case personal to Alex and he then recruits Klein and Narik to the cause and they head to the latest crime scene.
Meanwhile, Blade finished looking around town for ship parts and returns to the ship to see that muggers are attempting to steal all of Narik's gold. He quickly manages to defeat all of them and gets the gold back and then begins to wonder where everyone is. Amira had also been going around town, but runs into Alex, Narik, and Klein going to the crime scene, so she joins in as well.
They soon make it to the crime scene and encounter Gale, the Sheriff's right-hand man. Alex tells the others that Gale had stolen evidence from his fort and that he doesn't trust him. The group then entered the house where the murder occurred and Alex shows that the killer did the deed in a secret basement. While looking at the body, he tells the group of the killer's M.O. He takes some of the victim's blood through their neck and also always uses the same blade to stab them in the heart.
They suddenly hear a noise from upstairs and go to investigate. The room had been destroyed and a message written in blood had been revealed. The message read: "at the Edge, my Dreams all Fade away" The group ponders what the message means, while Alex went outside and took 8 people that were nearby to be interviewed. After interrogating everyone, Alex, Narik, Klein, Amira, and the newly arrived Blade all looked over the profiles of the 8 people and decide who they think the killer was.

Was taken off by the group as they figured she was innocent.
Profile 8
Name: Nick Hall Jennings
Age: 34
Profession: None
Hometown: Unknown (Went to Potsberry Asylum at age 7)
Previous Offense: Carrying illegal items
Bio: Nick was born in a unknown village, but was sent to a private school in Potsberry after being dubbed mentally unstable. He stayed here for 23 years, until he was finally released at the age 30. He then spent 4 years wandering around various towns, until finally ending up in Daygeran. He is seen hanging around the local tattoo shop, The Faded Edge, but doesn't actually worked there. He seems to be a regular customer as he reportedly has 37 tattoos of things from his past.
The group slowly started to realize all the similar things that appeared in the profiles and the message written in blood. Almost everyone of the suspect could be the murderer, so each person picked one of the people to interrogate further. Blade picked Roscoe, Alex picked Nick, Amira picked Winston, and Klein picked John. Narik chose to stay behind and look into the remaining profiles further, so everyone went off to their suspects.
Each of the suspects that the group picks ends up to be a dead end. Blade learns that Roscoe was just a man that was in the wrong place at the wrong time, Klein gets John to reveal that he accidentally killed his friend years ago and has lived in guilt ever since, Nick believes Alex was attempting to bring him back to the asylum and kills himself when cornered, and Amira realizes that Winston is just an innocent poet who is just as scared of the killer as everyone else.
After everyone returned to the prison in depression, Alex took one last look at the remaining profiles and finally found the secret that was hiding within. "at the Edge, my Dreams all Fade away" had three letters that were capitalized. E, D, and F. These letters matched the initials of Ellis Duncan Farve, revealing him to be the killer. Alex dashes off to Ellis's house, while Narik, Klein, Blade, and Amira follow shortly after.
Alex arrives at the house and breaks in, encountering Ellis. He learns that Ellis has the ability to cast an aura around him that weakens his victims as long as he has blood around him. The more blood he has, the bigger the aura gets. Alex is subdued and starts to ask Ellis questions. Ellis reveals that he used Gale (Who he has captive) to learn how far the police were in capturing him and that he is a member of a secret organization where each member is given a unique power, hence his aura. Alex manages to overcome the aura and tries to save Gale, but Ellis kills him before he can escape. Alex takes the dagger Ellis used to kill Gale and begins to fight with him, only to be defeated and thrown out a window into the street.
Klein and Amira arrived to see Alex lying on the street. Narik and Blade also show up as well. Klein and Blade go into the house to fight Ellis, while Amira and Narik stayed with Alex to patch him up. After a short battle in the house, Blade and Klein managed to figure out the limits of Ellis's aura and Blade kicks him out into the street. Ellis expresses his shock at them figuring out his Achilles's heel and then adds more blood to his aura. Narik explains that the more damage the aura absorbs, the smaller it gets, so they just need to attack Ellis without allowing him to add more blood to his aura.
Narik, Klein, and Blade all began their charge on Ellis and eventually, they manage to get his aura shield down to nothing and Narik also manages to strike Ellis in the chest. Ellis once again was surprised that the group learned fast, but then combines the rest of his blood packs with his wound, turning him into a giant monster. Klein is injured during the battle with the improved Ellis and Amira goes to help him.
Meanwhile, police officers arrived to assist in fighting Ellis. Narik and Blade commander them in the fight, but they are eventually all killed, leaving only Narik and Blade to take on Ellis. They both decided to use the last of their energy to cripple Ellis's legs and afterwards are not able to do much more. Suddenly, Alex walked out of the hole in Ellis's house and revealed that he had been charging a magic spell to bind Ellis and send him to hell. Due to Ellis's legs being sliced, he isn't able to maneuver out of the way in time and is consumed into the black hole that Alex summons. Everyone marvels at the power of the spell and Alex soon passes out of exhaustion afterwards.
On a deserted island, Ellis awakes and realizes that he had been saved by another member of his organization, Venric, at the last second. Ellis thanks Venric for saving him, but Venric reveals that he has been ordered to kill Ellis by their boss. He only saved him as he didn't want him to be remembered as the member who was killed by wanderers. Ellis gets ready for battle and replys to Venric that he would've died by Alex, a Hero of Yufferock, and not by some wanderers. He then pulls out a scroll that holds his last supply of blood and becomes a monster again. He charges at Venric to attack, but is instantly cut in half. Venric then cleans off his axe and comments that he's surprised the Heroes of Yufferock are still active and that this new breed of mercenaries seem interesting.
Alex wakes up the next day and sees Narik sitting next to him. Narik explains that everything was cleared out after the battle and they are back in Alex's fort. Narik looks around the room and notices the picture Klein did earlier. Alex explains that it was taken in Yufferock, the Western Continent after his old group's battle against an organization known as Astral, who attempted to take over Yufferock. Alex then led Klein, Narik, Blade, and Amira to his dock, where he revealed that he would give them a new boat to replace their destroyed one as a thanks for helping him defeat Ellis. The group bids farewell to Alex and then takes off to the seas as Alex watches from the docks, commenting how they remind him of his old team.
