Blade heard the screams from deep within the caverns. "Hm? Klein may be in trouble...Amira, guard the entrance, I need to help him." Blade drew one of his pistols as he bolted into the dark cave. "Blast, I can hardly see..." Blade rushed, making blind guesses as to which way to turn through the winding corridors. He heard a muffled exchange of words, stopping to determine which direction it was coming. It was quiet for a moment, and then suddenly Blade heard the clanking of weapons, and darted toward the sound. He came upon a long hall way, where he saw Klein readying himself to fight off what had to have been a scrum of at least 10 men. Klein slashed violently with his dirks in all directions, knowing it was necessary to fend off the men. Blade sprinted in to Klein's aid, firing a shot at the man nearest to him, the shot hit the man in the arm causing him to let go of Klein. Blade ripped another man from what had now become a pile and threw him to the ground, as the he lay flat on his back Blade swiftly drew his second pistol and executed the man with a shot to the head. Blade rushed to the pile, he knew Klein was fighting for his life. Blade plunged in, grabbing Klein underneath the arms. He struggled to pull him from the clutches of the men, which he had noticed were all the same just as he freed Klein. "Blade! I've never been so glad to see you..." Blade smirked, "Now's not the time to express your gratitude, we can't win this fight in our current position, quickly follow me!" Klein nodded in agreement as the sprinted through the corridors, the men right on their tale. "Klein, what's going on here?"

"You really need an explanation?" Klein said taking the lead and taking a sharp left. "Heard some screaming, sounded like Azal, then this guy came out of nowhere, surprised me." He could tell Yasha was still on their tail. "He's one of them, same group as X." Blade nodded. "His ability is cloning himself it seems, wonder if thats his only trick." He said. Klein shrugged. "Either way we are outnumbered, and if instincts tell me right he isnt the only one here. We need a plan." Klein sighed. "But for now..." He stopped and turned around. "Our time is up, we need to fight." He readied his weapons just as Yasha rounded the corner.

"You know, like they say, running will only make you die tired. So, why don't you both just give up now and I promise it will be a quick and painless death...or at least I'll try." Yasha then charged at Blade, but was stabbed by Klein before he managed to connect his attack. Yasha smirked and then the body turned to ashes. "It was another fake. Maybe if we kill all of his clones, it will only be him?" Blade asked Klein. "I'm not so sure about that. It's possible he could just make more, although he would eventually have to run out of energy, but who knows how long that would take." Blade nodded and then quickly turned as he heard more footsteps. "Damn, here they come. So what's the plan? Attack or run?" Klein looked around for the trail he was following earlier and then saw some of it up ahead. "We have to keep moving to find Azal, Narik, and Darius. We'll just have to keep going and try to hold this guy off as we make our way there." As Klein finished, three more of the Yashas appeared around the corner and ran at the duo. Blade shot one of them in the head while Klein picked up some of the powder from the trail and threw it at them, blinding them both momentarily. "Alright, let's get going!" Blade said to Klein as they both turned around and followed the trail.
The real Yasha and the remaining clones came around the corner as well and saw the previous two still blinded. "Useless fools, I guess it doesn't matter if you are replicas of me in appearance, you are nothing compared to my power." Yasha then sliced both of the clones in half and their bodies were absorbed back into him. He then turned to count how many he had left. "4 more and I still have enough power to make roughly 8, but I might save it for something else." The clones looked to Yasha and nodded, readying their swords. "Good, at least none of you are defects like those two fools. Now then, let's make sure these pests don't get out of here." Yasha and the 4 clones then continued their pursuit of Klein and Blade.

Klein and Blade sprinted down the corridors, though the two had great stamina, they knew they wouldn't be able continue running as they didn't know the layout of the cave while their pursuers did. Blade nodded to Klein, "Let's play a little offense, shall we?" Klein nodded. Blade turned, drew his pistols and fired 2 shots at the two clones nearest to him, they dissipated and were absorbed back into Yasha, Klein hastily lunged forward, plunging his rapier deep into the heart of a clone. Blade holstered his guns, and applied his knuckles. "The odds appear to have evened up!"

Blade ran at one of the Yashas and punched him in the stomach. "Good thing I have these, huh?" Yasha laughed and then pointed down. "Likewise." Blade looked and saw that his punch was stopped by another arm that came out of Yasha's stomach. Four more arms came out of his shoulders and then knocked Blade away from him. The other clone also grew more arms and started to approach the two men. "Great, another thing we are outnumbered in. We'll have to settle for it though, looks like we can't walk away from this fight anymore."
Narik and Azal were still being held prisoner to the man. "As long as I remain in contact with both of you, my power will prevent you from trying anything harmful to me. It's sad that I can't see what's going through both of your heads right now. I'll just have to imagine what your fears are.." Narik looked to his hands and saw blood. "What the hell is going on?" He then looked up and saw a person he had tried years to forget. "You...what the fuck are you doing here?" The person made a disgusting laugh and smirked. "I have a job for you. What the hell did you expect?" Narik shook his head. "No, no. I quit this long ago, I'm done. How did you find me!" Narik looked around the area and noticed that he was no longer in the room, but instead in his previous home. "Shit, this can't be real.." He stood up from the chair and ran downstairs and started to remember everything. The day he had tried to repress, he had somehow been brought back to it. Once he reached the bottom of the stairs, Narik saw his wife, Maria, on the ground. Blood was everywhere and a knife was still in her body. The man came down the stairs after Narik and sighed. "This is what I had wanted to avoid. When I took you on as my apprentice, I told you that you could never say a word of what you did for me, and yet you did." Narik shook his head again. "No, I never said anything. That's why she left me, I refused to reveal what I did for you." The man laughed. "Oh, so that's what you tell yourself? I figure all the drinking you did made you believe in that lie. Well, let me remind you again of the truth. You came home that day, the day you were severely injured from the assignment I gave you, which may I say, was a very poor decision. I made it clear to you to come to me if you ever needed medical help..and you went to her instead. This time you couldn't hide the lie anymore, you were sick of it and just told her everything as she patched you up." The man twirled a knife in his hands. "And then she came to me for clarification. 'There's no way you make him do these things, Dad! Why would you choose him of all people? Why do you always have to interfer with my life!' I then also got sick of the lie and decided to take the quick and easy option out of the problem." Narik stared at the ground, his eyes beginning to water. "You killed her...and tried to frame me for it.." The man smiled. "Yes, but if you remember, you didn't go down like the dog you were. You came after me...found me months later...and then got your revenge using the skills I taught you. I was obliviously, I never thought I had created such a monster." Narik started to laugh. "Like you're any different, you don't have the right to call me a monster. YOU KILLED YOUR OWN DAUGHTER!" The man shrugged. "That is true, but I'd do it ten times over if I had to, because I know that with that action, I created the ultimate killing machine...I created you." Narik had enough of the man's talk and pulled his sword out, slicing the man in half. Suddenly, he was back upstairs, in the chair from earlier, and saw the blood on his hands again. "You can't wash that away, it might as well be your own skin now.." The man said to Narik and then began to laugh hystiarcally. "Maybe I will be able to live this moment over 10 more times at this rate. Come downstairs with me, let's see it again!"
"WHY CAN'T I KILL YOU!" Azal yelled as he swung his sword at a figure. "Because you have never been able to kill me. You failed to do it years ago, don't you remember?" Azal looked to the right of him and saw his father dead on the ground. "You were the one who attacked him that night. You pretended to be dead and as soon as I listened to my father's last words, you attacked me as well. I should've made sure you were dead as soon as I saw you, just like my father always told me to do.." The figure ran forward and clashed blades with Azal. "You were distraught, I don't blame you for forgetting your father's lessons. And because of that, I got away, the murderer of your father got away." Azal put all his strength into his arms and pushed back the figure and then quickly struck him while he was knocked back. Once again, the attack did nothing to the figure. "Who the hell are you?" Azal asked the figure. "I was the man who told your father about the sacred crystals in the first place. When he told me he wanted power to help your clan, I thought it would be the perfect oppotunity to get some help to find them. Surprisingly, he managed to locate one of the crystals rather quickly, but I couldn't allow him to take it before I could, he was a candidate after all.." Azal noticed something about the figure. "Wait...you're the man that was with Narik and I in the cave." The man smiled at Azal's revelation. "Yes, once I heard your father's last words to you, I knew everything I needed to know to set my plan in motion. I went to the island a few days prior to the 5 year experation date of that chest and just simply waited for someone to show up and hoped it was a candidate. I never imagined a whole group of them would show up though, but the more the merrier." Azal ran to the man and continued their sword fight. "I'm not going to help you with your plan, you killed my father out of greed and I won't sink to your level, even if that type of power is at stake." The man sighed. "That's unfortunate to hear, but if you won't help me..." The man's figure began to change and soon Azal's father stood in front of him. "...Will you help your father?"
Klein thrusted his sword forward, but it was stopped by two more hands that grew out of the Yasha he was fighting. "I'm not even sure which of you is the real one, I haven't been able to hit you at all.." Blade continued his barrage on the other Yasha with his knuckles, but almost each blow would be blocked by an arm. "That's it, I'm getting sick of this.." Blade started up a charge again, attempting to punch Yasha in the side, but he grabbed Blade's hand. Blade then jumped up and tried to slam his knee into Yasha's neck, but a hand came out of his chest and grabbed that as well. Klein noticed the moment and quickly threw his dirk at the back of Yasha's head. The dirk connected with the back of Yasha's head, but a hand slowly emerged out of it, with the dirk in its palm. Blade smirked and then pulled out his gun with his free hand and put the barrel into Yasha's mouth. "Let's see you make a arm in here!" Blade pulled the trigger and the Yasha disappeared. "Looks like we finally got the advantage now. 2v1." The remaining Yasha laughed and then pointed to Blade's stomach. Blade looked down to see arms emerging out and they both grabbed his guns and threw them aside. "Come on now, Warriors shouldn't use weapons like those in battle." Yasha said as Blade began to wrestle with the arms as they were starting to move towards his neck to strangle him. Klein ran to Blade and picked his dirk off the ground and sliced both of the arms off of Blade's stomach. "Damn, looks like he can plant arms on you if he touches you. We can't really fight long distance though as he took your guns.." Klein stated and then started to move towards Yasha. Blade ran along with Klein and then both attacked together. "I want to see how many arms you can make on yourself!" Blade asked Yasha as him and Klein started a relentless attack on Yasha. More and more arms continued to come out of him and some on Klein and Blade as well, but they would quickly help each other take them off. Klein finally managed to do a downward strike on Yasha which ripped off several of the arms on him. "Seems like you used up all your energy summoning those arms. Maybe you should've relyed on your swordsmenship more." Klein said to Yasha. Yasha moved down the hallway and attempted to pick up his sword that he dropped earlier, but he was stabbed from behind by Klein. "You're done, just give up. Now bring us to the area where Narik and Azal are being held and maybe we'll let you live." Yasha nodded and then slowly stood up and looked around. "Alright then, follow me."
Narik knocked over a lamp in the house, which started up a fire. "COME ON! MAYBE IF THIS ENTIRE FUCKING HOUSE BURNS, I WON'T BE HERE ANYMORE." The man just watched him from a corner of the room and laughed at his insanity. "Face it, Narik. You're stuck in here until you agree to the plan that was given to you. There's no other way." Narik watched the fire spread and shook his head. "Fuck that, I'm not doing it. I'd rather stay in here and try everything I can to get out than help that man." The man shrugged and then stood up. "Suit yourself..." The room was then reverted back to how it was a few minutes ago and Narik was back in the chair. "There you go, try everything you can now. I'll reset when you do something wrong." The man then went downstairs, leaving Narik in the chair expressionless. Azal moved to dodge an attack from his father. "Damn it, stop it right now! I'm not going to hurt you." Azal yelled. His father yielded and put away his sword. "There's only one way to do that and you know it. So until you agree to it, I will continue." Azal clenched his fist and then released it. "Fine, let me out of here. I'll activate the crystal." His father smiled and then transformed back into the man from before. "Wise decision, boy." Azal then found himself back in the cave, the man no longer using his power on Azal. "My name is Ardis, I am the leader of Neo-Astral." Azal looked shocked at the mention of the name. "Astral has been revived? I heard that organization was destroyed years ago by the Heroes of Yufferock?" Ardis nodded to the question. "It was, except I. I was the only member who survived the battle and I brought it upon myself to revive the organization and bring it back to its formal glory, no matter what. And with these crystals, I will have more than enough power to go beyond the glory of Astral and with it, I will make sure I don't fail like they did." Ardis used his free hand to point to the Chi Crystal. "Go ahead and activate it...and then transfer its power to me." Azal walked over to the crystal and then placed his hand on it. The crystal brightly glew and then changed color. "I...can...feel...all...the power...surging through...me." Azal grunted and then finally released his hand from the crystal. "There, now you have absorbed all its power. Now, place your hand on mine and give me it." Azal started to walk over to Ardis and slowly began to put his hand near Ardis', but then sliced his other hand off with a energy beam, freeing Narik. "Damn it...I should've figured you'd betray me. Oh well, it was a waste anyway. Even if I lose contact with Narik, he will still be in the nightmare until I release it myself." Azal tried to cut Ardis in half, but suddenly couldn't move his body. "Oh, did you think I needed to have contact with you for my power to work? Although you aren't in a nightmare, I can still make you freeze in fear from this distance." Ardis then started to walk towards Azal, ready to trap him in a nightmare, but Narik threw a dagger into his arm. "How did you manage to snap out of the nightmare by yourself?" Ardis asked. Narik looked to Ardis with cold eyes and then charged at him with his sword. "Didn't you listen to anything I just said? I can still freeze you from a distance." Narik still continued forward without stopping and then plunged his sword into Ardis. "HOW! HOW ARE YOU NOT AFFECTED BY MY POWER!" Narik looked up to Ardis and thrusted the sword deeper. "When I used to be a mercenary for my Father-In-Law, I was taught to be able to kill my emotion for short periods of time. Right now, I don't know the defintion of fear. That's how I beat your power." Ardis smiled at Narik's response. "You may not have fear, but you have hate. I can feel it coming off you a mile away...and my power works with that too. It works with all emotions." With that, the Ardis in front of Narik disappeared. "Through hate, I can make you envision the current object of your hatred wherever I desire. It's real to you, but not to anyone else." Narik looked around and saw Ardis on the other side of the room. "This is goodbye for now, I'll get the power of the Chi Crystal later, you can count on that."
Ardis then vanished out of sight for both Narik and Azal. Narik went back to his normal self and looked to Azal. "So, what are you planning on doing now? He'll be after you now and he probably has more croonies than we fought right now." Azal looked to his hand. "I have enough power to take any of them on. I'm not scared anymore." Azal then told Narik what Ardis had revealed to him. "Huh, I've heard that story before. I'm friends with one of the Heroes of Yufferock. Can't believe all those legends are actually true, I'd thought some would be exaggerating." Azal looked to the doorway. "Your friends are on their way right now. I'll leave you in their hands. I have things to attend to." Azal then started to walk away. "Wait? You aren't going to stay with us? We're all candidate, right? Why wouldn't you help us out with your new powers?" Narik asked him. "I'll be able to work better on my own. Don't worry, your group will be the first to know if I manage to come across another crystal...and maybe this time one of you can it. This power already feels like it will be enough to accomplish what I want." Azal then lifted his arm in the air and blasted a hole into the ceiling and began to fly upwards. "Later." Narik watched Azal's departure and then slowly stood up and walked to the doorway right as Klein and Blade arrived with Yasha. Narik gave a look to Blade, to which he nodded and then knocked out Yasha. "Alright then, I'm kinda beat, so let's just take this guy and get to the boat. I'll fill everyone in once we get there." Blade picked Yasha up, but Klein stopped Narik. "No, I need to know what happened right now. Where's Azal? Who captured you? What's that crystal?" Narik sighed and then walked past Klein, knocking him aside. "I told you, it can wait."

Klein lowered his brow. "What the hell's gotten into you?" He said pushing past Narik and standing in his way. "We just risked our asses to save you, the least we deserve is an explanation of what the hell is going on here." He shook his head and shrugged. "And are you seriously thinking of letting that thing live? Who knows what these guys are capable of, let me finish him off already." He said drawing a dirk. "I may have signed up to go on this little quest with you, but I sure as hell didnt sign up to be hunted down and killed by some freaks of nature." He took a step towards Narik, but Blade put his arm out to stop him and leaned in. "He's obviously been through something tough, let him be for now, we'll sort this out later." He said quietly. Klein shifted uneasily. "Fine." He said turning. "But you sure as hell better believe im killing him as soon as youre done."

Narik and the others made their way back to the boat where Amira was waiting for them. "Seems you gave the ship good company. Well done." Narik told her and then directed his attention to Yasha. Blade had tied Yasha up and put him on a corner of the deck. "Alright then, why don't you tell us everything you know?" Narik asked him. Yasha switched his gaze between everyone and then sighed. "What exactly do you want to hear? Try to be more specific. I'm sure one of the others managed to blabber enough already. There's 27 of us in the organization, well 24 now, each of us are assisted a letter in the alphabet. Z is weakest, A is strongest. We are trying to get all 6 crystal around Avalon in order to reign supreme and have world domination. Is that enough for you now?" Narik smiled to Yasha and then started to walk away. "Yes, that's enough. I just wanted to confirm that what I heard was true or not. Seems it was the case..but I do have another question for you." He turned to Yasha again and looked him directly in the eyes. "Where is your base of operations?" Yasha rolled his eyes at the question. "Figured that was coming sooner or later....anyway, we don't have a official one, well we do, but there's no way in hell you guys would be able to get there. We only go to this place for very urgent matters though, I've only actually been there twice, being such a low ranking member and all. Other than that, we just travel in small packs that are close to our letter and are delivered orders time to time from Ardis. So, to put it short, we can be anywhere, at anytime. We have agents all over Avalon, so you better watch your back from now on because once you've pissed of Ardis, he won't stop until each of you are dead." Narik put his hands in his overcoat's pockets and then turned around to walk away. "Well if that's the case, we won't stop until each of you are dead either." Narik then motioned to Klein to dispose of Yasha and walked into the lower area of the boat. "When you're done there, come on down and I'll discuss what happened and what I've learned."

Klein nodded and turned to Yasha. "Nothing personal." He said stepping forward, dirk in hand. "Wait, youre seriously going to kill me after I cooperated with you?" Yasha said. "Did you honestly think we were going to be stupid enough to let you go, after you tried to kill us?" Klein said moving closer and bending down to his level. Yasha laughed. "Should have figured as much..." He said. Klein looked him in the eyes. "Hunting is very different from killing other people, i didnt feel remorse when I killed for food, but this is different. We'll see what comes of this later..." Klein said softly, more to himself then to Yasha. Klein moved around the back of Yasha. Yasha winced slightly as Klein grabbed his chin and the back of his head and jerked hard to the left, an audible snap was heard. To ensure he wouldn't survive Klein slit his now broken neck and tossed the body overboard. "That ends that..." Klein said solemnly looking into the ocean as Yasha's body sank below the ships wake. Klein turned and headed for the door leading below deck, grabbing his shoulder and rotating it. He located Narik below deck, Blade and Amira were already waiting. Klein walked in, looking at Narik. "It's done." he said walking to the far wall, pulling up a chair, and sitting in it backwards with his arms folded on the back. "Now then...I want my explanation." He said, skeptically.

(Wanted to try writing in a different style, see if I like this better.)
Narik sighed and then looked to the group. "Alright then. You already heard most of it from Yasha before you killed him, but here's the full version." Narik then went through what happened to him and Azal in the cave before Klein and Blade showed up, although he left out what his nightmare consisted of when discussing Ardis' power. "So now Azal has the power of that crystal and we are left empty handed?" Blade asked. Narik nodded to the question. "Pretty much, yeah. But I think we can trust him to help out along the way, there are still 5 more crystals out there after all.." Klein shrugged and then got out of his seat. "Well then, everything makes a little more sense to me after that explanation. But it seems that we have made it to the top of Neo-Astral's hit list now, so we'll all have to be on our feet from now on." Everyone nodded in response to Klein's words and then all got up to go to the deck. "So, where do we head off to now exactly?" Narik asked.
